the JI leader, Mas Selamat Kastari managed to escape from the Whitley Road detention centre
where he was being detained
His family was visiting him at the time, and he was being led to a room to meet them when he asked to go to the toilet. He then fled.
A massive manhunt comprising of armed police officers, Police Special Operations Command officers and army guardsman is currently underway to track down the escaped detainee,
who walks with a limp and he is believed to be unarmed.
Authorities said security is very tight at the detention centre and are presently conducting an independant study to determine how the fugitive escaped at 4.05pm
Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng acknowledged that a security lapse led to his escape, and apologising in Parliment by saying 'I'm Sorry'
The Onraet Road facility has armed guards, high wire fences and CCTV cameras, which puzzle us, how the hell he escaped without leaving any clues?
As my SS teacher told us, Singapore got too complacent with her security measure
When you get complacent, you are dead
This will highlight to the government that Singapore's security measure will have some brushing up to do
